Groundwater Quality Assessment & Dewatering Compliance Monitoring
Our team is working with Fortis on their luxury beachfront offices development "Whitewater" in Manly, NSW. Fortis initially engaged TRACE to review and provide advice on management of fill removal during foundation works ahead of basement excavation. Our team helped streamline that process to look for opportunities to find savings and avoid unnecessary costs. The previous data collected on the groundwater quality beneath the site was also reviewed, along with the proposed water treatment strategy. What was proposed required a substantial footprint which was problematic for the size of the site, and also quite expensive to operate.
They subsequently engaged TRACE to independently test the groundwater quality and undertake routine water quality monitoring of the water treatment system, which led to us identifying opportunities to reduce the size and scope of the water treatment plant, leading to substantial savings for the project.
So far, TRACE has saved the project an estimated three quarters of a million to a million dollars, when combining savings in avoiding unnecessary costs, and reducing the cost of existing treatment processes. And this has been over 6 months that we have been involved in the project.
Currently, we are managing the ongoing water quality monitoring to ensure the water treatment system is compliant with regulatory requirements and works can proceed efficiently.
